Education Programs

 

Bleeding Education Program (BEP) is designed to educate and encourage individuals who are impacted by Hemophilia, von Williebrand's Disease, and other bleeding disorders.

Caesar B. Flake Memorial Scholarship is a scholarship founded in memory of Derek Flake’s father who passed away in 1997 as a result of complications from internal bleeding possibly an undiagnosed bleeding disorder.


Hemophilia Federation of America Scholarships each year HFA awards ten scholarships of $1,500 each to promising students in the bleeding disorders community.

 

 

Awareness Programs 

Kids Can... 
This program is designed to educate and promote a healthy lifestyle among patients living with bleeding disorders by exposing them to sports and exercises in a safe environment. 

Dads Organized & Engaged 
offered in a blended format to connect fathers who share similar experiences that go along way in helping you be the best possible dad for your children. This program is sponsored by HFA.

FLOC (Future Leaders in Our Community) 
This program is for young adults diagnosed with a bleeding disorder. The focus of this program is to provide transitional strategies as they begin to navigate the real world while dealing with their bleeding disorder.

Educational Sessions (BEP)
Our educational  meetings are held monthly. The meetings offer support and networking opportunities. The setting of these meetings are in a safe  public place with food, fun, and fellowship.

 

 

 


 

Advocacy Programs

S.A.P. (Support & Advocacy Program) 

A program designed to equip and support grass roots advocacy, training, and strategies that benefit families and individuals living with bleeding disorders.  (i.e., Training/Education on 504 and IEP school education/health plans to include social service referrals)

Helping Hands
aids select families with emergency/urgent funding to assist in crisis situations such as housing, transportation, and utility bills. This program is sponsored by HFA.
